Researchers, PhD students, and scholars engaged in Open Science, bibliometrics, or research assessment are invited to contribute to a knowledge exchange session on Thursday, 22nd May 2025, between 10:00–16:00, at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki.

This session is organised as part of the SCIROS project (Strategic Collaboration for Interdisciplinary Research on Open Science in the SSH), an international initiative that explores the theoretical, practical, and infrastructural dimensions of Open Science. The session will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and foster discussion on the role of open bibliographic data in research evaluation.

Call for Contributions

We welcome contributions in the form of 20-minutes presentations that address topics related to Open Science and research assessment, including but not limited to:

• Open metrics and indicators (e.g., OpenAlex vs. Scopus)
• Quality measures and open assessment practice
• Bibliometric indicators and their implications for research evaluation
• Transparency and reproducibility in research assessment
• Open Science and data-driven evaluation in the SSH
  Any other related topics within Open Science and research assessment

The session will include a guest lecture by an invited expert (TBC) and feature presentations from scholars and PhD students. Participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing research, case studies, or projects in an interactive format designed to encourage dialogue and collaboration.

Submission Guidelines

Interested contributors are invited to submit an abstract (maximum 250 words) outlining their proposed presentation. Abstracts should be sent to gabriela.manista@ibl.waw.pl by 30th of April 2025.
