Open Data in Art Research: Practices and Innovations in Museum Collaboration

On 8 October 2025, the Polish Academy of Sciences – Scientific Center in Vienna, in cooperation with the Digital Humanities Centre at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences and The Network for Digital Art History in Austria (DArtHist Austria), will host a one-day international seminar dedicated to the role of open data in art research and museology.

The event will bring together researchers from Poland and Austria to present current projects, discuss innovative digital tools and methods, and reflect on the challenges and opportunities of working with open digital resources. The programme includes case study presentations as well as a workshop on applying the F.A.I.R. principles to research data in the arts and cultural heritage.

Hands-on Workshop

Led by Cezary Rosiński (IBL PAN), this interactive workshop (approx. 3 hours with breaks) will guide participants through open data practices in art and museology research, including tools, strategies, and ways to make research data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
